Description

A candle that opens like a flower and a bowl that stays long after the flame. The Petal Bowl Candle is a handmade ceramic bowl candle with a scalloped, petal-shaped rim and a speckled cream glaze. It's one of a kind, made to be lit this winter and kept for years.

Made by hand in Quebec

Each bowl is shaped one at a time by Quebec ceramist Diane Brouillette, who has been working with clay since 1975 and whose work has been shown in Canada, Europe, and China. Because every piece is made by hand, the shape, colour, and texture vary slightly from bowl to bowl, so the one you receive is truly unique.

The Scent

Scent: First Snow

Fresh mountain air in winter. Bergamot and grapefruit open with a crisp, bright note. Bamboo leaves, wildflowers, and primrose add a touch of green. Forest fern and soft musk finish the scent with a calm warmth.

Notes:
Top: bergamot, grapefruit
Middle: bamboo leaves, wildflower, primrose
Base: forest fern, musk

Qualities: Crisp, fresh, wintery.

A holiday gift that lasts

It's a gift for the host who has everything, the friend who lights a candle every evening, or anyone on your list who loves handmade things. Two cotton wicks give an even burn of about 80 to 90 hours, which lasts well through the holidays and beyond.

A bowl with a second life

When the candle is finished, let the leftover wax harden, pop it out, and wash the bowl. It becomes a bowl for your morning coffee or cereal, a dish on the nightstand, or a home for your rings and earrings.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does The Petal Bowl Candle smell like?
The First Snow scent opens with crisp bergamot and grapefruit, adds a touch of green with bamboo leaves, wildflowers, and primrose, and finishes with forest fern and soft musk. It’s fresh and wintery, like mountain air on a cold day.
How long does the ceramic bowl candle burn?
About 80 to 90 hours. Its two cotton wicks melt the wax evenly across the wide bowl.
Who makes the ceramic bowl?
Each bowl is shaped by hand by Quebec ceramist Diane Brouillette, who has worked with clay since 1975. Because every piece is handmade, no two bowls are exactly alike.
Can I reuse the bowl after the candle is finished?
Yes. Let the leftover wax harden, pop it out, and wash the bowl. It works for coffee, cereal, a nightstand dish, or jewellery.
Is The Petal Bowl Candle a good holiday gift?
It’s one of our most giftable pieces: a handmade ceramic bowl and a winter scent in one. It’s a thoughtful choice for a host, a friend, or anyone who loves handmade things, and the bowl stays long after the holidays.
