Help us restore forests
Millions of hectares of forests are lost every year due to deforestation. Yet trees are the pillars of the world: air purifiers, habitats for many animal species, climate fresheners and more.
Reducing our ecological footprint is a very important aspect for us and it is through small changes that we can make a difference on our beautiful planet. For example, our packaging is 100% recyclable and some is compostable.

Always in line with this desire to pay attention to our environmental impact, we have decided to go further and call on our community to take action and work with the organization One tree planted in order to give back to our planet.
1 tree will be planted in the province of Quebec for each reusable bag sold. Double victory! In addition to reducing your daily plastic use, you will help a forest.

Who is One Tree Planted?
Created in 2014 in Vermont, One Tree Planted is a non-profit organization that focuses on reforestation. When Matt, the founder, started the adventure, his goal was simple:
"make it easy for people to understand the importance of trees and make it even easier to get trees in the ground."
In 2020 alone, the organization planted more than 10 million trees. For 2021, the team wants to double that number. With reforestation projects in North America, South America, Asia and Africa, One Tree Planted takes care of planting trees to restore forests after fires & floods, promote job creation, build communities and protect biodiversity.
Why we want to protect trees?
There are several reasons why trees should be protected:
- Plants help purify the air we breathe by removing harmful carbon from the atmosphere and absorbing ambient air pollution.
- They help filter the water we drink.
- They cool the ambient air by providing protection against heat and their foliage offers protection against solar radiation.
- They also provide habitat for many animals and plant species.
- And more.

Why is buying a reusable bag helping the planet?
When you buy a Mimi & August reusable bag, you will plant a tree in the heart of a reforestation project in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. Following an agricultural plan that never occurred, several acres of land were cleared. Thanks to your help, this forest will be back!
Through this collaboration, we want to educate our community about the importance of sustainable forest management. We will do our part and help the reforestation as long as we can.
